Jeju salt: the salt we make
Our factory is in Gujwa-eup. Instead of drawing water from the sea, we make salt from water pumped from underground. We call that water lava seawater.
Seawater drawn from underground
Jeju seawater is naturally filtered as it passes through basalt layers and collects underground on land. That is what the salt's ingredient label, ‘제주용암해수 100%’ (100% Jeju lava seawater), refers to. Its origin is domestic: Jeju, Korea.
Six stages turn it into salt
We concentrate the drawn water by removing only moisture, then finely spray it in the salt-making room to form crystals. We dry it for 24 hours, select salt that meets our standards, inspect it with a metal detector and package it. The six stages are water intake, concentration, salt formation, drying, selection and packaging.
Rather than boiling the water down, we use a temperature-controlled process that excludes high-temperature heating and refining. This keeps the minerals in the salt intact.
What we make now
Our product is 제주미네랄솔트 lava seawater mineral salt, 200g. It comes in a white container shaped like a dol hareubang, enclosed in a clear case. The trademark ‘눈결 소금’ is printed on the label. We also offer a separate 150g pouch product called ‘제주미네랄솔트’. Its food category is ‘other salt’.
In September 2025, we launched the lava seawater powdered salt ‘제주미네랄솔트’.
Our history
We established the company in November 2013. Construction of the factory began in July 2017 and was completed in July 2019.
Our history lists nine patents. We registered the 제주미네랄솔트 trademark in April 2015. In October 2024, ‘눈결소금’ received the Korean Intellectual Property Office's ‘우리말 우수 상표’ award, which recognizes outstanding Korean-language trademarks.
