What do patents and certifications associated with salt tell you?
In salt descriptions, certificates and test reports often appear alongside patent numbers. They may all look like product documents, but they answer different questions. Our documents likewise concern manufacturing technology, names, company and process management, or test results.

Patents concern how it is made
Our company history lists nine patents: seven in Korea and one each in Japan and China. A patent certificate gives the invention’s title, patent number, filing date and registration date. It is not a document certifying the salt’s composition or efficacy.

Some recognition concerns the name
We registered the “제주미네랄솔트” trademark in 2015-04. In 2024-10, “눈결소금” received the Korean Intellectual Property Office’s “우리말 우수 상표” award, recognizing trademark names that make good use of Korean. Trademark registration and the award are both part of the name’s history. We do not present this as an award that assessed food quality.
Certificates concern the company and its processes
Our company received ISO 22000 certification in 2022-05. In September of the same year, our in-house research institute was certified. In 2020, we received Korean recognition for our dedicated R&D department, venture enterprise certification and the SCI certificate for technological excellence (“SCI우수기술기업인증서”). In 2020-09, we completed our manufacturing and processing business registration.
Certificates state to whom they were issued and their scope. The fact that a certificate exists needs to be considered alongside how far it applies to a particular product.
Documents from actual testing
We hold test reports for general bacteria and E. coli, microplastics, and heavy metals. A test report records the sample tested, organization, date, items and results. Unlike a patent, it tells you what was tested.
If you need testing documents, please tell us which items you want to know about. Each report has a scope of use set by its issuing organization, and we will provide information within that scope.
