Nungyeol Salt won an award for its name
Say “눈결소금” (Nungyeol Sogeum) aloud. In 2024-10, this name printed on our salt packaging was selected for the Korean Intellectual Property Office’s “우리말 우수 상표” award, which recognizes trademark names that make good use of the Korean language. The recognition is for the name, not for the salt’s composition.
Where does the name appear?
The 200g product comes in a white container shaped like a dol hareubang, a Jeju stone guardian figure. The container is enclosed in a clear case. The black label at the bottom of that case is printed with “눈결 소금,” “JEJU MINERAL SALT” and “200g.” The logo in the product information also features “눈결소금” alongside a snowflake symbol.
The product name is “제주미네랄솔트 용암해수 미네랄소금 미네랄솔트 소금물 소금차 소금답례품 200g.” Nungyeol Salt is the trademark name used on that product’s packaging.
When was the trademark registered?
Our company history records the registration of the “제주미네랄솔트” trademark in 2015-04. Trademark registration concerns the right to use a name and sign. The award recognizes the name. Registration and the award were obtained separately.
What the award does not tell you
The award does not establish the salt’s ingredients, mineral content or safety. Those questions require the product label and testing documents. We hold reports for tests on general bacteria and E. coli, microplastics, and heavy metals.

There seem to be several names
Our business name is “제주미네랄솔트” (Jeju Mineral Salt), and the 200g product is also named “제주미네랄솔트 용암해수 미네랄소금 200g.” The companion pouch is printed with “제주미네랄솔트” and “150g,” while the label on the 200g container reads “눈결 소금.”
Although there appear to be several names, the salt is made in the same place. In 2025-09, we launched a new lava seawater powdered salt, “제주미네랄솔트” (Jeju Mineral Salt).
