There is liquid salt, distinct from salt water

Salt may bring grains or powder to mind, but there is also a method for making it in liquid form. That is the liquid salt production method we patented in October 2025. Here we explain the patent and the uses of liquid salt.

What is the patent?

Our history lists it as ‘액상소금제조방법 특허 등록(특허제 10-2873690 호)’, meaning registration of a patent for a liquid salt production method. The invention title on the certificate is ‘해수 또는 염지하수(용암해수)를 이용한 액상소금제조방법’, meaning a method for producing liquid salt using seawater or saline groundwater (lava seawater). The shortened history entry and the certificate's full title refer to the same number.

The application was filed in January 2023, and registration took place on October 15, 2025. It is the most recent of our nine registered patents.

Another patent was registered that year

In July 2025, we registered a salt-making equipment patent, No. 10-2841768. It was filed on September 2, 2022, and registered on July 30, 2025. We added one patent for liquid salt and one for equipment that year.

Where is liquid salt used?

The instructions here are for powdered salt. Dilute 1 small teaspoon of powdered salt in 500ml of water to drink, or dilute it in 100ml of water for gargling.

Its mineral balance gives it a mild taste for drinking and a non-irritating feel when gargling. We developed our salt with various everyday uses in mind, beyond seasoning alone.

Patents and products are different subjects

A patent is a right relating to a production method; it is not certification guaranteeing the taste or quality of products made with that method. This article covers the name and number of the registered technology.
